 Welcome to the

2016-17 School Year

Summer is always an important time for our district staff to re-charge, renew, and reboot and we could not be more excited about our school year and to greet our students smiling on August 18! We have an extraordinary staff and many new faces have joined our learning community and school teams. Each year we greet hundreds of new parents of kindergarten students, as well as families that have relocated to Larkspur-Corte Madera. This year’s enrollment is stable with approximately the same number of students in the district as last year.

As we open the school year, I want to assure the community that work related to maintaining a top performing school district where students are the number one priority, not only related to their academic success, but their personal safety and well-being, begins with each and every school day in our district.

Embedded within our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) are several goals related specifically to these three C’s: Climate, Culture and Communication. In addition to improving student learning and achievement, our district will focus on continuous improvement through enhancing positive climate, creating a culture of learning for the entire community and cultivating two-way communication between and among our stakeholders by inviting input, feedback and holding ourselves accountable. We honor the hard work of our staff as they embrace all of the changes in the field of education and through supporting their efforts we will optimize learning for our students! We anticipate a productive and rewarding school experience! Our doors are open to you. You can find us by email, on Facebook and Twitter - don’t miss out on all of the exciting activities that happen in our schools daily.

Yours in Education,

Valerie Pitts, Ed.D.
