Trustee Seat Available on Governing Board

This communication is to announce the opening of a Board seat on the Larkspur-Corte Madera School District Board of Trustees. The term for this opening is four years. We thank Sasha Morozoff for his service to the District since June of 2019 through the November 18, 2020 board meeting.  Please join us in wishing him the best with family and future endeavors.   

Below is a copy of the Press Release announcing the vacancy on the Board. The four remaining Trustees will accept (via the District Office) and review applications from qualified candidates residing within District boundaries, interview, and appoint a new Trustee before the November 3, 2020 election date:

September 18 - Vacancy Announcement and Press Release

October 7 - Informational Meeting on “Becoming a Trustee” at 6:00 p.m. via
Zoom (see home page of for log-on information the morning of October 7)

October 8-October 19 (by noon) - Application Window. The application follows (for reference); a fillable form will be posted on the District's home page ( on October 8.  Applications may be dropped off at the District Office or emailed to by noon on October 19

October 26 - Board Meeting to interview and appoint a new Trustee. This
Special Board Meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. (IN-PERSON; formally set to be via Zoom)

December 14 - Swear-In Appointee at Regular Board Meeting to serve on the Board as Trustee.

The duration of the appointment is through November 2024.

Trustee Seat Available on Governing Board
September 18, 2020

Dr. Brett Geithman, Superintendent of the Larkspur-Corte Madera School District, announced that applications for an open seat on the Governing Board, will be available starting October 8, 2020, on the District’s website ( under “LCMSD News” on the home page through the submission deadline. Completed applications must be submitted in person to the District Office, 230 Doherty Drive, Larkspur, by noon on October 19, 2020, or via email to

Interested persons who live within the boundaries of the Larkspur-Corte Madera School District and who are registered voters are welcome to apply for the vacancy. All applications will become public record upon receipt by the District.

An Informational Meeting on “Becoming a Trustee” will be held on October 7 at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom (see home page of for log-on information the morning of October 7).

At this meeting, the Superintendent will review the basic roles and responsibilities of the school board and individual Trustees, and one or two Trustees will be present to answer questions.

The candidate appointed to fill this vacancy will serve as Trustee until November, 2024.
