Implications of differences between 2022-23 and 2023-24 school programs at the sites

Larkspur-Corte Madera School District

Dear LCMSD Community,

In the February 27 Newsletter, I discussed the reductions that were ultimately approved by the Board of Trustees on March 8. Please know we have done our very best to try and keep all programs in place and these decisions came with a heavy heart. I encourage you to refer to the newsletter to learn more about the rationale behind these changes.

The majority of reductions will impact the middle school; however, there are some elementary school implications. THIS VIDEO provides a brief summary of the program differences between 2022-23 and 2023-24. Additionally, the slide deck from the video can be found HERE. We hope you take a moment to watch it.

If you are a parent/guardian of a rising 7th or 8th grade student and you were unable to attend the parent information night on Wednesday, HERE is a screencast from Dr. Brown that summarizes what was discussed. Also HERE is the slide deck. There is a rising 6th grade parent night scheduled for May 24 at 6:00 pm in the Hall Gym.

While program changes are difficult, we are confident that LCMSD will continue on our trajectory of excellence. Thank you in advance for your understanding in our needs to course correct our ongoing deficit budgeting.
