Covid Isolation Period Update

Covid Isolation Period Update
alt_text

Dear LCMSD Community,

The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We are committed to providing you with the most up-to-date information, especially when it comes to safety.

Throughout Covid, LCMSD has led through the strong partnership between Marin schools and Marin County Public Health. A very important change regarding COVID protocols was just released: students and staff are no longer required to isolate for five days when testing positive for COVID-19 if they meet the conditions described below (which can also be found on our COVID website).

If you or a household member tests positive for COVID, please inform us immediately using this email: covidreporting@lcmschools.org

The LCMSD procedure for re-entry after testing positive for COVID is:

For students: Stay home (isolate) if you have COVID-19 symptoms, until you have not had a fever for 24 hours without using fever-reducing medication AND other COVID-19 symptoms are mild and improving.

For staff (as per Cal/OSHA): Stay home (isolate) if you have COVID-19 symptoms (with or without fever), from the day of symptom onset until at least 24 hours have passed. Excluded employees may return when 24 hours have passed with no fever without using fever-reducing medication AND other COVID-19 symptoms are mild and improving. Staff must mask for 10 days.

It is strongly recommended that students wear a mask on days 1-10 when indoors at school. You may remove your mask sooner than 10 days if you have two sequential negative tests at least one day apart. Day 0 is symptom onset date or positive test date.

Thank you for your support and partnership in keeping our schools safe.
