Dear LCMSD Community,
Welcome to LCMSD's vision and strategic planning process. We invite you to Imagine Tomorrow Together! This is a community-driven process and is one of several opportunities to hear from you. Here is a brief video message (Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish) explaining why and how to get involved.
During the 2024-2025 school year, LCMSD will be developing a long-term vision and strategic plan for what we want our school district to become by 2036.
Our vision will have four parts:
-
A Graduate Portrait—What does our community want to be true for our students? What do we want our students to know, be, and be able to do by the time they graduate so that they can thrive in life and career?
-
An Adult Portrait—If we want certain things to be true for students, what needs to be true for the adults who support them? What do adults in the district need to know, be, and be able to do to support every student in attaining the Graduate Portrait? This applies to all adults in the system: instructional staff, administrators,, operational staff and board members.
-
A System Portrait—How might the system need to change in order to support the adults to support the students?
-
Refreshed Core Values—How might our core values be refreshed so that it outlines our beliefs and behaviors that support all of this work?
We will also be developing a strategic plan aligned to our system portrait, that will help us to implement the vision.
In order to help you imagine the knowledge and skills that will be needed in the future, please watch this short video that will provide you with some ideas about the future into which our students will graduate.
