PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear Families,

The Cove School was very excited to participate in No One Eats Alone (NOEA) day on Friday, March 14th. This was Cove’s second time running a NOEA day. NOEA is a national program from Beyond Differences, which recently merged with Sandy Hook Promise. Feel free to explore more about NOEA day.

It is a day inspired by connections and fostering new ones with new faces. The purpose of this day is to encourage 3rd-5th grade students to reach out, make meaningful connections, and bring awareness to students' eating in isolation, and create a culture of belonging. You can watch this video to see what NOEA day is all about.

This year’s activity is called Bridging Hands, Taking Flight. Here is the presentation Mrs. Headley, Cove Counselor, used to help inform and guide our students participating in this impactful connecting activity.

Thank you to Mrs. Headley for her leadership in planning and hosting this event. Thank you to Jessica Swanson and Casey Mancl for their support in the logistical details to make this activity run smoothly. What a rich learning opportunity for our Cove coyotes!

Sincerely,

Michelle Walker, Principal

RIDWELL AT COVE

Ridwell is partnering with our Green Team and Green Schoolyards Team to host a plastic film drive at Cove. To participate, just collect your plastic film (ziptop bags, grocery bags, bubble wrap, and lots more) at home and drop them off at school at the end of April (date tbc). Ridwell will make sure it stays out of landfills and gets turned into new decking materials instead! The school will get a year long free pick ups if we get 10 or more families to sign up for their at-home recycling. They collect hundreds of common household items you can’t recycle curbside, like plastic food packaging, lightbulbs, clothes, Styrofoam, and more. Just sign up here by May 23rd.  https://get.ridwell.com/cove Make sure you sign up through that page so your membership counts toward rewards for the school!  Please help us make our campus greener by supporting this drive!
