Hall Middle designated a National Distinguished School!!!
Larkspur-Corte Madera School District |
Dear LCMSD Community, This is starting off to be an exciting week. We have a HUGE announcement about Hall Middle School and SPARK Giving Day is tomorrow. Drumroll please . . . Hall Middle is a National Distinguished School! Hall Middle School has been selected as one of two schools in California to be named a National ESEA Distinguished School for exceptional student achievement! Upon hearing the news, Dr. Brown shared, “This is an amazing accomplishment for the Hall Middle School community of learners and staff! We have been committed to academic excellence and are honored for this recognition. Way to go Cougars!” Superintendent, Dr. Geithman commented, “We are so proud of our teachers, staff, leadership, and students to receive this high honor. Clarity and purpose are drivers of success. As a school community, Hall has a laser focus on high-yield instructional methodologies, standards-based reporting, and supporting all students.” In 2021, Hall Middle School was designated as a California Distinguished School. The California Department of Education (CDE) then selected 2 out of the 223 California Distinguished Schools to be named as a National Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Distinguished School; Hall Middle being one of them. The National ESEA Distinguished Schools Program publicly recognizes qualifying federally funded schools for the outstanding academic achievements of their students. It highlights the efforts of schools across the country making significant improvements for their students. The program has been in place since 1996, showcasing the success of hundreds of schools in one of three categories:
The National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators (NAESPA) implements the National ESEA Distinguished Schools Program to highlight selected schools that have successfully used their ESEA federal funds to improve the education for all students–including economically disadvantaged students. More information about all National ESEA Distinguished Schools is available on the ESEA Network website: www.ESEAnetwork.org. Congratulations Hall Middle School on this well-deserved achievement! SPARK Giving Day is Tomorrow One of the elements that sets our school community apart is the support we receive from our parents and community. Did you know that community funding is approximately 30% of our budget? The staff, programs, and instructional tools provided by these funds take our schools from great to greater. Tomorrow is Giving Day for SPARK. We encourage all families to show their support for our schools by participating. Click here to donate. Thank you! Brett Geithman, Ed.D. |
