Golden Bell Awards, Coffee Chat Dates, COVID Test Distribution, and Testing Before Events ...
Dear LCMSD Community, I still can’t believe it is May - this year is flying by. The last month of school is always filled with many exciting events and recognitions, including our teacher and staff appreciation weeks! Be on the lookout for school specific information. We have a lot to celebrate in LCMSD and I look forward to seeing you out and about this month. Below are today’s updates: Dr. Brett Geithman Golden Bell Awards Mary Jane Burke just notified me that former Board President, Jill Sellers has been named as the Marin County Trustee of the Year! This is a huge accomplishment. Congratulations Jill and thank you for your many years of service and dedication to the students, staff, and LCMSD community. Annually, extraordinary members of the educational community are recognized at the Golden Bell Awards for their dedication to the students and communities throughout Marin. The Golden Bell Awards Ceremony will be held in the Redwood High School Amphitheater on May 26 at 4:00 pm. LCMSD has much to celebrate that afternoon - below are the 2022 Golden Bell Awardees. Congratulations to all!
Coffee Chats on May 11 (at Hall) and May 13 (via Zoom) Recently parents, students, and staff completed our annual surveys (results are here), which were presented to the Board on April 20th and the LCAP Committee on May 2nd. There were many positive trends and also some areas for improvement. We would like to provide an opportunity to discuss these results. As usual, our coffee chats will have a theme with the end of the meeting reserved for questions about any topic you’d like to discuss. We hope to see you there! Here are the details:
COVID Test Distribution We have received another batch of tests that will be sent home with Hall students on Wednesday and Cove and Neil Cummins students on May 11th. Make sure to check your child’s backpack. These tests are only for LCMSD students and staff and should only be used when symptoms are present or when notified by the district to test. Please report all (positive and negative) results from district issued tests here. If a student, staff, or household member is positive, please email covidreporting@lcmschools.org for specific instructions. Testing Before Events? You might have seen the recent recommendations from Marin County Public Health for schools to consider testing before large indoor events. If you or your child is to test before a school event you will be notified by the school with specific instructions. |
