Principal’s Message

Welcome Parents, Guardians and Community members to the 2023-2024 school year! Our summer is complete and we are ready to see all of our amazing students on Wednesday August 23rd. Each week I will send out a weekly message on Sunday full with a variety of important information. Our Neil Cummins and District website are also great resources throughout the school year. We are looking forward to another exciting year! Please review the information below to prepare for this week and this school year.


Class Placement/Teacher Assignments:  We work on final class placements from summer enrollment and other changes that take place since the end of the previous school year.  You will have access to your child’s class placement via parent portal in Aeries at 3pm on Monday August 21st. Your child’s teacher will also send a welcome letter via ParentSquare to the class on Monday August 21st between 3:00-4:00pm. 
   

New Morning Arrival Drop Off & End of Day Pick Up Procedures: New procedures will be shared with families in the welcome letter from your child’s teacher on Monday August 21st. 


School Hours: Full Bell Schedule Here 


Kindergarten

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays 

    • 8:10-2:00pm 

  • Wednesdays 

    • 8:10-1:30

  • Kindergarten Early Dismissal is at 12:10 August 23rd- September 1st for baseline assessments


Grades 1-5

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays 

    • 8:10-2:50 

  • Wednesdays 

    • 8:10-1:30


Important Logistics- This Neil Cummins Mini Handbook 2023-2024 includes essential information including important dates, school policies, bell schedules, a list of what you need to do to ensure your child is ready for school (school supplies, hot lunch, etc) and ways to get involved and support your school community.

First Day Welcome Back Coffee Everyone please join us in the NC Gym after dropping off your kiddos for coffee and a light bite. Meet and mingle with other parents, peruse before/after school activity options, sign up for volunteer opportunities and more! We hope to see you there!


Hooray for our Kindergartners! Thank you to the PTO for their outstanding work in planning this year's Kindergarten Social, with EXTRA special appreciation for Phebe Williams and Erika Tilney! Complete with appearances by Mr. Shaw and the Hawk and entertainment by Andrew’s Camp, the event was super fun! We are so excited to welcome our newest Hawks to our Neil Cummins community.

Spark News

SPARK is the primary non-profit fundraising organization that supports the Larkspur-Corte Madera School District. SPARK is committed to raising 1.5M each year to protect the exceptional educational programs our students receive at The Cove School, Neil Cummins Elementary and Hall Middle School. In order to have the well rounded educational experience we have come to expect for our students, our schools must rely on community funding.
