PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear Cove Families,

Tinker Day was a huge success! On Friday, Mar 15, we sparked students’ interest with an impressive Magic and Science assembly with Brian Scott

Then on Tinker Day (Wednesday, March 20) grades 2-5 were able to choose their own adventure. We were able to offer 22 activity choices thanks to our volunteers and community partners. Here is a list of the Tinker Day Stations and the Tinker Day Assembly kick off slide deck.

The kids were incredibly engaged and enthusiastic about tinkering. We tried to capture the magic in this Cove Tinker Day 2024 Google Photo Album. In this upcoming Friday’s assembly (March 29), we will show pictures and a few videos to share the array of student experiences and creations.

Thank you to those of you who sent supplies and volunteered your time and expertise. Thank you to our community partners, Steve and Kate's and Tinker Tech, for leading beloved stations for our students. And….I want to extend a huge thank you to Jessica Swanson, our amazing Tinker Day coordinator!

My hope is that this special day sparked creativity, planted some seeds for future inventors and created lasting memories for these students. Ask your child to share what they explored!

Sincerely,

Michelle Walker, Principal

SCHOOL & PTO UPDATES

Cove Coyotes Drive Composting Awareness Cove 3rd - 5th graders participated in an art contest for Painted Bins, a project of Sustainable Marin, that is dedicated to driving composting awareness by helping communities to place bins in public spaces. The bins are adorned with inspirational posters from local elementary students. This past Saturday, March 16th, posters were displayed at the Community Center for all to enjoy. Winners will be selected soon by an independent panel of local artists and community members and placed on bins throughout Marin. Stay tuned for the winner announcement!
