PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear Cove Families,

Staff Appreciation Week is This Week!  We are so fortunate to have outstanding teaching, support and administrative staff at The Cove School! This week, May 6-10 is Staff Appreciation Week and we hope you will join the PTO in making it a very special week. Throughout the week, we will shower them with a gift of a Cove School long-sleeved shirt, a special luncheon from the PTO and mini chair massages. On Friday, during the assembly, the staff will be honored and receive an envelope full of cards!

How can you Participate?

  • Flower Day - Monday, May 6th - Have your child bring a single flower for their teacher/s and any other staff they want to appreciate. We combine them into beautiful vases

  • Card Day - Tuesday, May 7th

    • Card Making During Lunch - Monday May, 6 - PTO will be supplying card making materials for the kids to make cards for their teachers. Bring those cards to school on Tuesday.

    • Tuesday, May 7- Bring in a card for your teacher.

    • More cards! Wednesday, May 8- Make a card for any other staff members you want to appreciate and drop it in the office by Wednesday, May 8. We will bundle them up and distribute them on Friday at the assembly.  List of All Cove Staff Names

Let’s come together and shower this very special group of people who give so much of their time to our children!

National Bike To School Day | Wednesday, May 8th

Our Goal: NO cars in the loop on Wednesday, May 8…Can we do it? Our Safe Routes to School parent volunteers, David Evans and Catherine Wold, have organized ways for everyone to participate - whether you live close or far!

  • Live in Larkspur? Meet Mrs. Walker for the bike train at the footbridge behind Redwood (near Andrew’s Camp) at 7:35am.

  • Live in Corte Madera? Meet Mrs. Walker’s bike train and Safe Routes parent volunteers to bike, scoot or walk from The Cove neighborhood. Meet at 7:50am at the intersection of Spindrift and Seawolf (~29 Spindrift to avoid filling up the intersection).

  • Live far away? Park and join us at Spindrift and Seawolf (see above).

Any child who travels in a “green way” to school (including the bus!) will receive a prize at our welcome table under the shade structure on the blacktop!  We will also be raffling off some amazing prizes during Cove in Motion that day! Two prizes per grade will be raffled for those who participate in getting to school in a "green way." Be sure to check in at the picnic tables to get your hand stamped and name included in the raffle.

We would love to have all Cove Coyotes participate!! Let's fill up the sidewalks and bike racks as much as possible. Thank you for teaching your child the importance of green travel --- it's a lifelong lesson!

Sincerely,

Michelle Walker, Principal

Kate Kropf, PTO Co-President

Catherine Wold,  PTO Co-President

Superintendent Coffee Chat Part 2: May 14 from 5:30-6:30 in the Hall Library On May 2, the coffee chat was focused on gathering feedback on our draft goals (LCAP) for 2024-25. Additionally, LCAP survey results were shared. We appreciate all of the input during this meeting. Due to the high engagement, we have scheduled an additional session (minus the coffee) on May 14 from 5:30 to 6:30 in the Hall Library to gather feedback. We will have a brief overview, followed by Q&A/feedback on our goals, and then will open the conversation to any and all topics. We hope to see you there!
