• 6TH GRADE YEAR LONG ELECTIVE CHOICES

    • Band 6: This class is designed for students who have completed beginning music the previous year. We develop different skills such as: reading and playing rhythm and melody, playing scales and various warm-ups, learning articulation, dynamics, blend, intonation, playing arranged music (different parts throughout the band), composing music, researching world music, listening and analyzing world music, improvisation, etc. Taking this class will prepare students for Intermediate Band.    

    • Chorus 6: This is a year-long course that focuses on musical development through choral ensemble work. Emphasis is placed on proper vocal technique, music literacy, part singing, challenging  repertoire and teamwork. Students will have multiple opportunities for on and off-site performances. Requires a few additional dates outside of the school day for performances.
