• SUBSTITUTES
     
    The Larkspur-Corte Madera School District uses the Frontline Absence Managment on-line substitute calling system.
     
    Certificated Substitutes (teachers) - The Marin County Office of Education (MCOE) handles the initial (and annual thereafter) substitute registration for the Marin County school districts. If you are not already registered with MCOE to substitute in the county, please visit the MCOE website. When registering, make sure to list our district "Larkspur-Corte Madera" in your district preferences.
     
    • Once you are active on the MCOE sub list, please fill out the LCMSD sub application on EdJoin.
    • Substitute Packet will be emailed once the application has been completed on EdJoin.
     
    After completing the Substitute Packet, please contact Bertha Lopez at blopez@lcmschools.org or 415-927-6960 ext. 3 to schedule an appointment for the substitute packet review.

    • Driver License OR Passport
    • Social Security Card
     
    Once you are registered with our system, you will receive an email directly from Frontline Absence Management instructing you how to get started and use the system.
     
    2024-2025 Certificated Substitute Pay Rates - The Larkspur-Corte Madera School District sub-rates are as follows:
    • Daily "Regular" Rate = $230 full/$115 half day
    • Daily "Premium" Rate = $280 full/$140 half day
      • Premium Rate applies for the following days:
        • August 23, 26, and 30
        • September 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, and 27

        • October 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 25, 28, and 30

        • November 4, 5, 8, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, and 22

        • December 2, 6, 9, 13, 16, and 20

        • January 6, 10, 13, 16, 17, 23, 24, 27, 28, and 31

        • February 3, 7, 10, 14, 24, and 28

        • March 3, 10, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 24, 25, 28, and 31

        • April 4, 14, 17, 18, 21, 22, 24, 25, 28, and 29

        • May 2, 5, 9, 12, 16, 19, 23, and 30

        • June 2, 6, and 9

    • Long Term Rate - substitute needed will exceed 25 consecutive days in the same assignment on Column I, Step 1 on the Certificated Salary Schedule
    • A temporary contract will be issued if the need exceeds 93.5 days in the current school year, same assignment. Placement based on units and experience.

     

    Classified Substitutes - in addition to certificated (teacher) subs, we are also in need of classified subs. Classified subs have the opportunity to work in a variety of positions; school site secretary, paraprofessional - specialized (work in the special education department), campus support (classroom aide or yard duty), library clerk, and custodial. Classified subs are paid step one of the job classification on the LCMSD salary schedule (the classified salary schedules are pages 5-7).
     
    To be a classified sub, please complete the Classified Substitute Candidate Application and Questionaire.  If you are hired as a classified sub, you will be asked to have LiveScan fingerprinting done. LiveScan can be done at the sheriff's department or any other vendor offering fingerprinting. Please print, complete and bring the district's LiveScan form with you to your appointment. Once your prints clear, you will be asked to complete the following substitute payroll forms:
     
    2. State DE-4 Tax Form,
    3. Federal Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9) (print and complete page 1)
     
    If you are a MCOE registered certificated sub, and NOT a STRS retiree, you may complete a one-page form MCOE Registered Subs Working in a Classified Position Registration to accept subwork in a classified position.
